When we checked in October 2026, Canva’s US pricing page showed Canva Pro at US$180 per year for one person, before tax, though some visitors were shown US$144. Canva varies the price it displays, so the figure in your own Billing settings is the one that counts. Prices in Bangladeshi taka, Indian rupees or Pakistani rupees depend on your country and on what the site shows you, so open the Canva pricing page in your own browser. We could not verify a local-currency figure for those three currencies, so we do not list one.
Canva Pro free trial: the cheapest first step
The trial is the closest thing to a free Canva Pro discount, and a good way to try Canva before you subscribe to Canva Pro. The upgrade help page says the trial is available once per account and once per payment method. If you start it without payment details, it ends on its own and you are not charged. If you do add a card, set a reminder. The Canva plan renews unless you cancel.
Canva for Education and the student discount that is not there
Many people search for a Canva Pro student discount. There is no such offer for college students. Canva Education is for K-12 teachers and the students their teacher invites. The eligibility page says it is not currently available for colleges and universities. It also lists parents and unlicensed homeschool educators as not eligible. A university may offer its own access, so ask your campus before paying.
If you do qualify, Canva Pro features cost nothing, so a coupon is the wrong tool. You verify with a school email or a document, and the team reviews it.
Canva for Nonprofits
Registered charitable nonprofits can apply for free access to premium features for one team of up to 50 people. Each application is reviewed, and acceptance is at the company’s own discretion. Government agencies, political groups, schools and for-profit companies are not eligible.

How to redeem and check a Canva coupon code before you pay
The site shows the result before you commit. Here is how to use a coupon code on a plan, as the Canva help center describes it:
- Start the upgrade process by selecting Try Pro for free or Upgrade from the homepage.
- On the plan selection screen, choose Coupon code.
- Enter the code and select Apply. If it is valid, the discount will automatically appear on the plan price. Applying the coupon code is the only check you need.
You can also log in to the account you want to upgrade and redeem your Canva Pro code on the redeem page. Look for the discount before you enter a card. If the price does not change, stop there.
For prints, the steps differ. Select Print with Canva in the editor, add items to your cart, and enter the coupon code during checkout, just below the payment method. When you are placing a Canva Print order, check that the discount shows on the invoice.
Use this checklist before you blame the code:
- Copy and paste it. Typos are the usual cause.
- Check the date. Codes have expiration dates, and some are single use.
- Use a browser. Pro and Business codes can only be redeemed on the web or mobile web, not in the app.

Which route should you choose?
Start with the free routes. Use the free plan if you design a few posts a month. Use the trial to test premium features. Apply for Canva Education or Nonprofits if you qualify, because both are free. If you pay yourself, choose the yearly plan when you design all year.
