SEO PowerSuite vs Ahrefs is a choice between desktop software and a cloud platform. SEO PowerSuite costs from $349 to $899 a year, and its free version never expires. Ahrefs costs $129 to $449 a month on self-serve plans. SEO PowerSuite is cheaper; Ahrefs needs no install. Prices are the US view as of October 2026.

This guide to SEO PowerSuite vs Ahrefs sets the two SEO tools side by side, using only each vendor’s own pages, read in October 2026. It covers what most comparisons skip: the 12-month and three-year cost, what each plan limits, how to pay from Bangladesh, India or Pakistan, and how each tool behaves on shared access. A decision list near the end shows who should pick which.

The short answer to ahrefs vs seo powersuite: the desktop toolkit wins on price, project counts and tracked keywords. Ahrefs wins on convenience, a browser dashboard and paid extra users for teams. Some people use both, one for tracking and one for research.

What is SEO PowerSuite?

SEO PowerSuite is a toolkit of four desktop programs from Link-Assistant, and it is a full SEO tool for ranking work. The vendor says each one covers a step of SEO work (link-assistant.com home page, October 2026):

  • Rank Tracker for keyword research and rank tracking in what the vendor’s home page lists as more than 550 search engines.
  • WebSite Auditor for technical SEO and on-page SEO audits, with a site crawler and a visual site structure.
  • SEO SpyGlass for backlink analysis, with penalty risk checks and a disavow file generator.
  • LinkAssistant for link prospecting and outreach, with an email client built into the app.

The toolkit runs on Windows, Mac and Linux. It can merge data from Google Search Console, Google Analytics and Google Keyword Planner into one project. The vendor also says its database holds 216 million keywords and its backlink index holds 6.5 trillion links. Those are vendor claims, and this article does not test them.

One line on the vendor’s home page matters for a beginner. Its FAQ says the platform has a steep learning curve. The same FAQ says the free version is limited in some functions but is not limited by time.

What is Ahrefs?

Ahrefs is a cloud SEO tool and platform. Its pricing page describes plans backed by what it calls the world’s second-most active crawler and more than 10 years of web-scale data (ahrefs.com/pricing, October 2026). Every paid plan includes Site Explorer, Site Audit, Brand Radar, SERP history and API access. Standard adds Content Explorer, Batch Analysis and SERP comparison, and Advanced adds a Looker Studio integration.

Ahrefs focuses on one large web index that you reach in a browser, so there is nothing to install. Ahrefs supports teams through paid extra users, from $40 a month each on Lite to $80 on Advanced, and it offers a free account for verified websites. The free account page says it has no credit card and no trial period, and that it is the same account once called Ahrefs Webmaster Tools (ahrefs.com/free, October 2026). It also includes an SEO toolbar that shows Domain Rating and URL Rating for any site and suggests keyword ideas in the search results, which is what people mean when they ask why Ahrefs includes a toolbar.

SEO PowerSuite pricing in October 2026

SEO PowerSuite pricing is shown on the vendor’s plans page, link-assistant.com/pricing.html. The currency depends on where the page is read. A US view in October 2026 showed dollars, and the table below uses those. The same page read from a UK address on the same day showed pounds: £299, £499 and £769 a year for Professional, Enterprise and Max. If you buy from another country, check the page in your own browser.

Plan Price per year (US view) What it adds
Free $0, no time limit One project that you cannot save, a crawl of 500 URLs, 1,100 backlinks, one competitor per project
Professional $349 Unlimited projects, keywords and backlinks; a full-site crawl; 5 competitors per project; 20+ keyword research tools; one year of historical data; in-app content optimization; Dropbox integration
Enterprise $599 Everything in Professional, plus 40 competitors per project, white-label reports, PDF and HTML reports by email, scheduled reports, CSV, SQL and HTML exports, priority support
Max $899 Everything in Enterprise, plus a free first year of the RankDots Starter plan, a free SEO course, live onboarding and a customer success manager

All plans, including Free, list Google AI Overviews tracking. The page also shows a 2-year plan that saves 20 % and a 3-year plan that saves 34 %. The FAQ says the software is sold as a subscription billed annually, that you can cancel at any time, and that partial-use refunds are not issued.

Ahrefs pricing in October 2026

The Ahrefs figures come from ahrefs.com/pricing, read in October 2026. The page shows monthly prices and says annual billing saves up to 17 %.

Plan Monthly price Tracked keywords Max rows per report Data history Credits per user, per month Extra users
Lite $129 750 2,500 6 months 1,000 $40 a month each, up to 2
Standard $249 2,000 30,000 2 years Unlimited $60 a month each, up to 5
Advanced $449 5,000 75,000 5 years Unlimited $80 a month each, up to 10
Enterprise $1,499, annual commitment From 10,000 150,000 Unlimited Unlimited $100 a month each

Each plan includes one user. Crawl credits for Site Audit run from 100,000 a month on Lite to 1,500,000 on Advanced. Add-ons include Report Builder at $99 a month. The page also lists a Starter plan at $29 a month, described as a way to see what people search and to look at competitors, with a Get started button. Its FAQ says Ahrefs never runs discounts and points website owners to Ahrefs Free. Check your own view of the page before you plan around any Ahrefs entry plan.

SEO PowerSuite vs Ahrefs: 12-month and 3-year cost

The question behind desktop licence vs cloud subscription is what you pay over time. This table multiplies each vendor’s prices. It uses monthly billing for Ahrefs, because that is what the page shows. The Ahrefs saving column applies the full 17 %, which is the most the page promises. These are arithmetic on vendor prices, not quotes.

Option (the first four rows are SEO PowerSuite) 12 months 12 months with the full 17 % annual saving
Free version $0 Not applicable
Professional plan $349 Billed yearly already
Enterprise plan $599 Billed yearly already
Max plan $899 Billed yearly already
Ahrefs Starter $348 Not shown on the page
Ahrefs Lite $1,548 About $1,285
Ahrefs Standard $2,988 About $2,480
Ahrefs Advanced $5,388 About $4,472

A year of Ahrefs Lite on monthly billing costs $1,199 more than the Professional plan. The gap grows over time, because the SEO PowerSuite page also sells longer plans for less:

Option 36 months
Professional plan, paid yearly $1,047
Professional plan, 3-year option (34 % saving) About $691
Ahrefs Lite, monthly billing $4,644
Ahrefs Lite, full 17 % annual saving About $3,855

The comparison is not like for like. Professional has no white-label output, and its data comes from a different index. But on price alone, SEO PowerSuite has a large edge over Ahrefs.

SEO PowerSuite vs Ahrefs: what does one report or check cost?

This is where the two pricing models differ most.

  • The desktop toolkit. The vendor’s home page promises unlimited SEO data without a daily credit limit. The limits sit in the plan: the free version caps projects, crawl size and backlinks, and paid plans lift those caps. Cloud storage is also capped, at 20 projects on Professional and 400 projects and 4,000 reports on Enterprise and Max.
  • Ahrefs. Use is metered. Lite lists 1,000 credits per user each month, while Standard and Advanced list unlimited credits per user. Rows per report, tracked keywords, keyword lists and crawl credits are all set by plan, and extra credits and data can be bought pay-as-you-go.

So one more keyword check costs nothing extra once you hold a paid plan. In Ahrefs, a Lite user can run out of credits before the month ends, and a Standard user hits other caps instead. If you run large keyword lists often, the desktop model is simpler to budget.

Keyword research and rank tracking in SEO PowerSuite vs Ahrefs

Both tools cover keyword research and ranking checks, with different strengths.

Rank Tracker lists more than 20 keyword research methods, follows your rankings in hundreds of search engines, and tracks unlimited keywords on paid plans. It also tracks local rankings. For local SEO features and for non-Google engines, that is a clear strength.

Ahrefs offers Keywords Explorer, with a Keyword Difficulty score that its Keywords Explorer page says is based solely on the average number of backlinks to the top-ranking pages, search volumes for 217 locations, and keyword clusters (ahrefs.com/keywords-explorer, October 2026). Its ranking tracker is metered: 750 keywords on Lite, 2,000 on Standard and 5,000 on Advanced, updated weekly. For a Google-only site with a few hundred keywords, that is enough. For an agency with thousands of keywords across clients, it adds up.

Backlink analysis is the other half of most SEO strategies, because links are a ranking signal. SEO SpyGlass checks the links to any site, shows a penalty risk for each, and builds a disavow file. The vendor says it draws on its own index, plus Search Console and Analytics data. LinkAssistant then handles prospecting and outreach.

Ahrefs puts backlink analysis in Site Explorer, with broken backlinks and outgoing link reports on Standard and above. The pricing page lists no outreach email client. This article does not rank the two backlink indexes, because no vendor page allows a fair comparison.

Site audits and on-page SEO in SEO PowerSuite vs Ahrefs

WebSite Auditor crawls the whole site on paid plans and checks on-page SEO, Core Web Vitals and content, and it includes an in-app content editor with SEO writing tips. The free version crawls 500 URLs.

Ahrefs runs Site Audit in the cloud, with crawl credits per month and a cap on pages per project that depends on the plan. Cloud crawling means you do not use your own computer. A desktop crawler uses your machine but has no per-month credit.

Client reports: SEO PowerSuite vs Ahrefs

The Enterprise plan adds white-label reports, scheduled delivery and PDF or HTML exports. Ahrefs sells Report Builder as an add-on at $99 a month, and its plans include a number of reports each month. For an agency that sends monthly reports, SEO PowerSuite wins on cost, while Ahrefs wins if you want one shared dashboard in a browser.

SEO PowerSuite review: strengths and limits

This SEO PowerSuite review is based on the vendor’s own pages, not a hands-on test. It is the short version of what a buyer of SEO software needs to know.

  • Strengths. Low price, unlimited projects and keywords on paid plans, a free version with no time limit, hundreds of search engines, local rank tracking, white-label reports on Enterprise.
  • Limits. It is desktop software, so you install it on each computer. The vendor’s FAQ describes a steep learning curve. Annual billing is the default, and partial-use refunds are not issued. Cloud storage is capped by plan.

Ahrefs vs SEO PowerSuite: where Ahrefs wins

Ahrefs has the edge on convenience and team features. You open it in a browser, extra users are paid add-ons, and everyone on the account sees the same data. It also includes Brand Radar and Web Analytics, which are not part of the four SEO PowerSuite tools. Monthly billing is easier to start and stop, if you accept a higher price.

SEO PowerSuite vs Ahrefs: prices and payment from Bangladesh, India and Pakistan

Neither vendor shows BDT, INR or PKR prices on the pages read for this article. The SEO PowerSuite page showed dollars in one view and pounds in another. Ahrefs shows dollars.

SEO PowerSuite is sold through 2Checkout, and its FAQ lists cards, PayPal, local bank transfer, phone, wire transfer, WebMoney and UnionPay, with real-time bank transfer for the USA only. Which ones appear for you depends on your country. The Ahrefs FAQ says it accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and UnionPay, with wire transfer on request for Enterprise only. PayPal is not in that list.

On DigitaVision, prices show in USD or BDT, and you can pay by card, PayPal, bKash or crypto as listed at checkout.

SEO PowerSuite vs Ahrefs on shared access

DigitaVision does not sell SEO PowerSuite, so there is no shared seat for it. The free version is a download, and you can try it without paying.

Ahrefs is sold inside the Arhefs Combo pack, which pairs Ahrefs and Semrush. It is a shared seat: one vendor account that several members use through the DigitaVision browser extension, with a single sign-in and no vendor password. DigitaVision is not affiliated with Ahrefs, Semrush or Link-Assistant. What to expect:

  • The pack page says the Ahrefs seat gives the Ahrefs Standard plan features.
  • There is a daily credit limit. Searches, filters and Site Explorer reports all draw on it. The pack page shows the current limit, and the post on Ahrefs limits explained shows how to plan around it.
  • Ahrefs is not sold alone. It comes only in the pack. Fair-use rules apply, and the replacement and refund policy applies if a tool stops working.
  • Other members use the same account, so keep private client data out of it.

A desktop crawler is the nearest match to WebSite Auditor in the catalog. The Screaming Frog group buy costs $15.00, and its tool page states which version is covered. Browse more under SEO and marketing tools.

Can SEO PowerSuite replace Ahrefs, or is a hybrid setup better?

For many SEO tasks, the desktop toolkit can replace Ahrefs: rank tracking, site audits, backlink checks and client reports are all in its four tools. A hybrid setup makes sense when you need both. Use the desktop apps for the daily tracking jobs that would otherwise use up credits, and use a shared Ahrefs seat for quick research on competitors. In SEO PowerSuite vs Ahrefs, the two tools overlap less than the feature lists suggest.

Is there an SEO PowerSuite alternative?

If SEO PowerSuite does not fit, tools like Ahrefs are the first place to look. Semrush and Ahrefs are two well-known cloud SEO platforms (our Semrush vs Ahrefs guide compares them), and Semrush and Ahrefs share one pack on DigitaVision. Semrush offers a Keyword Magic Tool, a Backlink Audit tool, a Backlink Gap tool and an SEO Writing Assistant. Using Semrush alongside Ahrefs gives two independent data sources for one research task. The Semrush group buy costs $3.99 on its own. SE Ranking is another cloud option. Each has its own plans, so read the vendor’s page before you choose.

Semrush vs Ahrefs is the comparison that SEO professionals meet first, and tools like SEO PowerSuite, Semrush and Ahrefs overlap on SEO metrics and SEO analysis. Some teams choose Semrush for SEO content work, and others prefer Ahrefs for links. Neither is a clear winner for every task, and SEO best practices apply to each of them. Every serious SEO toolkit needs an on-page SEO checker to flag SEO issues; WebSite Auditor, Ahrefs Site Audit and Semrush all do that job in their own way. For a solo SEO specialist, good SEO comes from checking data regularly, not from one brand.

For a free route, SEO PowerSuite’s free version and Ahrefs Free both cost nothing. They are limited, but they are enough to learn the tools on one site.

Who should pick which in SEO PowerSuite vs Ahrefs?

In SEO PowerSuite vs Ahrefs, the right pick depends on your budget, your team and your ranking goals.

  • New to SEO. Start with the free versions of both. Keep in mind the vendor’s note on SEO PowerSuite’s learning curve.
  • Freelancer. The Professional plan if you track many keywords and want a low yearly price; Ahrefs Lite or a shared seat if you want a browser tool and fewer set-up steps.
  • Agency. The Enterprise plan for white-label reports at a flat yearly cost; Ahrefs Standard or Advanced for team access and large reports.
  • Local SEO. The desktop toolkit, because its rank tracking includes local rankings.
  • Link builder. Either one. LinkAssistant adds outreach; Ahrefs adds a large link index in the browser.
  • Budget in South Asia. The Professional plan for the lowest yearly cost, or a shared Ahrefs seat if you want Ahrefs data without a direct plan.

Bottom line: SEO PowerSuite vs Ahrefs, which should you choose?

Choose SEO PowerSuite when price, unlimited keywords and white-label reports matter most, and you are happy to install software. Choose Ahrefs when you want a browser platform, team access and monthly flexibility. In the SEO PowerSuite vs Ahrefs decision, the cost gap over a year is large, but the better tool is the one you will open every week. A sensible route is to try the free version of each, then pay for the one you miss.

If the Ahrefs price is the obstacle, compare a shared seat with the cost tables above, and read the daily credit limit on the pack page first.

FAQ

Is SEO PowerSuite free?

There is a free version with no time limit. It is capped: one project that cannot be saved, a crawl of 500 URLs, 1,100 backlinks and one competitor per project. Paid plans lift those caps.

Is SEO PowerSuite vs Ahrefs a fair comparison?

Partly. Both cover keyword research, backlinks, audits and rank tracking, but one is desktop software with yearly billing and the other is a cloud platform with monthly billing and credits.

Can SEO PowerSuite replace Ahrefs?

For rank tracking, audits and backlink checks, often yes. For browser access, team seats and Brand Radar, no. Some users keep both, or use SEO PowerSuite for tracking and a shared Ahrefs seat for research.

Is there a free alternative to Ahrefs?

Ahrefs Free covers your own verified website with limited tools. SEO PowerSuite’s free version works on any site but caps crawl size, backlinks and projects.
