The addon fee explained: why a pack’s price can go up
When you buy a customisable pack, the final price can go up after you choose your tools. That is not a mistake at checkout: some tools have an addon fee, an extra charge added to the pack’s base price when you choose that tool. This post explains how it works, how to spot those tools, and how to check your price before you pay.
Which packs have addon fees
Addon fees apply to the packs where you choose tools:
- Medium Pack: choose any 10 tools from the list.
- Heavy Pack: choose up to 15 tools.
- Mega Pack: choose up to 20 tools, directly on the pack’s page before you order.
- Mega Combo Pack: access to all the available tools on its list, more than 150, for members who need many tools rather than a chosen few. Some tools can still carry an addon fee, marked beside the tool name.
A pre-selected pack has a fixed set of tools that you cannot change, so there is nothing to pick and no addon to add. See bulk packs explained for the three kinds of pack.
How the price is worked out
Each pack has a base price. When you choose tools, some show an extra price beside their name:
- A tool with no extra price beside its name is included in the pack at no additional cost.
- A tool with an extra price adds that amount to your final price, for each 30 days.
Final price = the pack’s base price + the addon fees of the tools you chose.
If none of your tools shows an extra price, you pay the base price only. The base prices are on the packs page; the addon fees are beside the tool names on each pack’s order page.
How to spot a tool with a fee
When you pick tools from the drop-down list, read each tool name carefully.
Tools with no extra fee
A name with no extra price beside it has no fee. Semrush, Majestic, Moz, Grammarly and Wordai, for example, are included in the pack at no extra cost.
Tools with an extra fee
A name followed by an extra price, written like Ahrefs (+ fee for each 30 days), adds that fee to your pack price. Ahrefs, Revoicer AI and Netflix, for example, have an addon fee.
The rule is simple: if no extra price is written beside a tool name, the tool has no addon fee.
Two examples
With one addon. You buy the Medium Pack and choose Semrush, Majestic, Moz, Grammarly, Wordai and Ahrefs. The first five have no extra fee; Ahrefs has one. Your price for each 30 days is the Medium Pack’s base price plus Ahrefs’ addon fee.
With none. You buy the Medium Pack and choose 10 tools with no extra fee: Semrush, Majestic, Moz, Grammarly, Wordai, JungleScout, Spin Rewriter, PickToChart, Indexification and Video Blocks. You pay the Medium Pack’s base price only.
Before you pay
Check:
- The pack you chose
- How many tools that pack allows
- The tools you picked
- Any addon fee beside the tool names
