Spotify Premium Price in 2026: Subscription Prices for Every Plan, Spotify Premium Student, Hulu and Cancel Anytime

The Spotify Premium price in the US runs from the Student plan to $21.99 for Family, with Individual at $12.99 and Duo at $18.99, as of October 2026 on Spotify’s own plan page. Local prices differ: Spotify’s India page lists Standard at ₹139, Pakistan lists Individual at Rs 379 and Bangladesh at BDT 219 a month.

This guide shows what each Premium plan costs in one table, sets the US next to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, explains what happens to you when a price changes, and lists honest ways to pay less. Whether paying is worth it at all is covered in our guide to whether Premium pays off. Every figure comes from Spotify’s own pages, and offers change, so confirm each number on your own plan page.

Spotify Premium price by plan in the US

The US page lists four paid Premium plans. Each is billed monthly with “Cancel anytime” on the card, and none shows an annual price. Here is what each plan costs.

Plan Monthly price Accounts Who it is for Intro offer shown
Individual $12.99 1 One listener $0 for 2 months, then $12.99 per month after; new to Premium only
Student $6.99 1 verified account Eligible college or university students $0 for 1 month, then $6.99 per month; new to Premium only
Duo $18.99 2 Couples at the same address None shown on the plan card
Family $21.99 Up to 6 Family members at the same address None shown on the plan card

Source: Spotify’s US Premium page, read 21 October 2026, which showed “Try 2 months for $0” on Individual; Spotify’s Student page, read the same day, shows one free month. Spotify also sells an Audiobooks Access plan in the US. It gives audiobook access only, not a music plan, so it is left out of the table. The Student offer currently includes access to Hulu, subject to eligibility, and is an offer available only to students at an eligible accredited higher education institution who have not tried Premium before. Spotify’s support page on trial eligibility adds that you are not eligible if you have already had a trial, purchased Premium before or been a member of Premium Family or Duo. The shared plans carry the line “Terms apply” and the same-address condition.

How much does Spotify Premium cost per person?

Spotify Premium costs in 2026: the per-person split

Individual looks high and Family looks low, because the shared plans split one bill across several Premium accounts. Simple division on the US prices shows the gap.

  • Spotify Premium Individual: one listener, the baseline.
  • Duo: two accounts, about $9.50 each. Two separate Individual plans cost $25.98, so Duo is about $7 a month less.
  • Family: up to six accounts, about $3.67 per person when all six seats are used, and about $7.33 each with three people.
  • Student: one verified account, close to half of Individual.

These are divisions, not figures Spotify prints, and they hold only when every seat is real: members must live at the same address, and each keeps a separate account with their own music and recommendations.

Spotify Premium price in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh

Spotify sets prices country by country, and the plan list changes too. The table shows the three South Asian pages, each in its own currency. Nothing is converted.

Price in India: Standard, Platinum and Student

India works differently: there is no Duo or Family card. Spotify’s Platinum support page describes Platinum as a plan for up to three members who live together, with lossless audio and extra tools.

India is also the one page that shows a prepaid year. Standard is ₹799 for 1 year, “Pay once in advance, top up when you want. Does not auto-renew.” The card puts it at the equivalent of ₹66.59 a month and says “Save ₹869”. The introductory offer on the same page reads “₹139 for 2 months, then ₹139 per month after”.

Pakistan and Bangladesh: prepaid cards and Duo savings

Both pages show the four familiar plans, and Duo in Bangladesh is BDT 299 for two accounts against BDT 438 for two Individual plans. Pakistan also shows a one-time prepaid option of Rs 399 for one month, Rs 20 more than the Rs 379 recurring price, and Rs 219 for Student against Rs 199 recurring. Prepaid is not automatically cheaper, so compare the two cards on your own page.

Spotify family plan price and how Duo compares

The Spotify family plan price is the most requested number after Individual, and it is the plan most affected by the same-address rule. The Premium Family plan covers up to six accounts. Here is how the plan works: the plan manager signs up, pays the single bill and can add or remove plan members.

  • Audiobooks: only the manager gets 15 hours of audiobook listening time a month, as a monthly audiobook allowance. Unused listening hours expire at the end of each month and do not carry over.
  • Young listeners: Spotify’s support page says the plan manager can create Spotify Kids accounts, and each Kids account takes 1 of the 6 slots.
  • Switching: someone with an existing account can switch to Family or Duo and keep their music and purchased audiobooks, but plan members can only switch plans once every 12 months.

The Spotify Duo plan is the two-person version, “for couples who reside at the same address” in Spotify’s words. If more than two people at the address want Premium, Family costs $3.00 a month more than Duo in the US and covers up to four extra accounts.

Why Premium prices change, and what a subscriber should do

Many searches about price increases and price hikes come from people who just received an email. Spotify’s newsroom announced a US price update on 15 January 2026, saying Premium subscribers in the US, Estonia and Latvia would get an email over the following month explaining the change. Its price updates support page (undated) answers what happens next.

Billing date: when does the new price start, and can you cancel?

You get an email about the new price and “a one-month grace period to cancel before it takes effect”. Your billing date is shown on your account page. You can cancel at any time, before the next date.

What if you are on a free trial offer?

If you are on a trial offer, as an existing Premium subscriber, you have one month at the original price after the trial ends, and then the new price for your plan comes into effect.

Spotify Free keeps your playlists and podcasts

If you do not want the new price, Spotify points to its other paid plans, if you are eligible, and to the free tier, an ad-supported plan whose free version keeps your saved tracks, playlists and podcasts in your Spotify library. The Pakistan and Bangladesh pages add that a cancelled paid plan runs to the end of the paid period and then moves to the free plan.

Gift cards and the student discount

You can redeem a gift card bought at a lower price, but gift cards can only be redeemed on the Premium Individual plan. If your student discount renewed but you were still charged full price, return to your Spotify account after SheerID verification and subscribe to the student offer, because verification alone does not move your plan. Spotify’s US student page adds that Premium Student is for students enrolled at an eligible US Title IV accredited college or university, over 18, and that after you graduate you keep access for up to 12 months from the date you subscribed. Student access runs for up to four years, with a re-verification every 12 months. The same page says you pay one bill plus tax to Spotify for both Spotify and Hulu, and that Spotify will notify you first if the price changes.

Ways to pay less for a Premium plan

Spotify offers most of these routes on its own pages, plus there is one outside option. None needs a coupon code, and none is a promise: eligibility and offers are Spotify’s to set.

  1. Premium Student plan. Student costs about half of Individual in all four markets above. To get access, students at an eligible institution must pass verification.
  2. Split Family or Duo. The per-person cost falls fastest here, but only for people who live at the same address.
  3. Intro offers. As shown on the pages above: the US page shows two free months on Individual and one on Student, Pakistan shows Rs 0 for one month, and India and Bangladesh show a two-month offer priced at ₹139 and BDT 219. All are for people new to Premium. Spotify sends a reminder 7 days before a trial ends.
  4. A personal account through DigitaVision. If the plan rules do not suit you, for example you live alone and want your own login without a monthly bill, you can buy a Spotify personal account. It is a private Premium Individual login set up by DigitaVision’s team, not a share of someone else’s plan, and your history and settings stay apart from every other customer. The price on the day you read this is $24.99, one payment for 1 year of access with no renewal. Setup is usually 2 to 4 hours, up to 24 hours in rare cases, and the listing carries a 90-day warranty. It is one account for one listener, so the Family and Duo plans are not part of it, and it is less suited to someone who wants to upgrade a Spotify account they already use, because the login is provided to you. You can pay by card, PayPal, bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Upay, crypto or bank transfer, and support answers every day from 8 AM to 3 AM Bangladesh time. If the account you buy does not work, you get your money back or a replacement. DigitaVision is not affiliated with Spotify.

Is Spotify Premium worth it? What the streaming service and premium plans include

Spotify describes Premium as a way to listen to millions of songs, offline and without ad interruptions, and its company page lists over 100 million tracks, 7 million podcast titles and 700,000 audiobooks. The Pakistan and Bangladesh plan cards list the Premium features that each plan includes: ad-free music listening, offline downloads, high audio quality and listening with friends in real time. The US page adds that the music service works on more than 2,000 devices: on the road it connects to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto or a car’s built-in system, at home it plays on smart speakers, your TV and game consoles, and Spotify runs on smartwatches and wearables, so your music comes with you without your phone. All plans share the same core audio streaming features, so the choice is mostly about price and eligibility.

Which Spotify Premium price fits you?

Students take Premium Student if their institution passes SheerID verification. Two people at one address take Duo, three or more take Family, and someone living alone takes Individual or a personal account. In India, pick Standard for one person, Platinum for three people who live together, or the prepaid year to pay once. Last, check your own page: the country page you see depends on where you are, and a price can change with an email and a one-month grace period.

FAQ

What is the Spotify Premium price in India?

The India page lists Standard at ₹139 a month, Student at ₹69 and Platinum at ₹299, plus a prepaid year of Standard at ₹799 that Spotify says saves ₹869 against paying monthly.

Will my Spotify price go up automatically?

Spotify says it emails you first and gives you a one-month grace period to cancel before it takes effect. On a trial offer, you pay the original price for one month after the trial ends.

Is there a cheaper way to get Premium?

Yes. Student is about half the Individual price, Duo and Family cut the per-person cost for people at one address, and people new to Premium see intro offers. A personal account through DigitaVision is another route for people who do not fit those plans.
